The Future is Indigenous - It is time for us to invest in ourselves!

Investing in the Future: Why Indigenous People Should Support Native Businesses and Organizations

The future is Indigenous. Let’s invest in ourselves! One great way to do this is by putting money back into Native businesses and organizations. Investing in our own communities reaffirms our sovereignty and keeps dollars within our local Indigenous economies.

Native businesses often create using traditional knowledge, like crafts or services that are part of our culture. By supporting these businesses, we keep our cultural heritage alive. For example, businesses that make traditional art or offer services based on old knowledge help keep traditions going strong. When we buy from these businesses, we're helping keep our culture alive for the future.

Investing in Native businesses helps create jobs and brings in money to our communities. When Indigenous people start businesses and do well, it shows others they can do it too. This is really important for breaking cycles of poverty and helping Indigenous communities become more independent.

Investing in Native businesses gives us more control over our lives and our communities. For years, colonization took resources and freedom out of our communities and reinvested these dollars away from us. By supporting businesses owned by Indigenous people, we help OURSELVES have more autonomy and control over our own futures.

When we put money into Native businesses, we're helping to make our communities stronger. This creates a feeling of togetherness and helps everyone in the community do better. We have the power and capacity to heal ourselves. Supporting local businesses means the money stays in the community and helps us grow.

Putting money back into Native businesses and organizations isn't just about making money. It's a way to help keep traditions alive, empower our communities, and strengthen our communities. When we support Indigenous businesses, we're improving the lives of our next generations and helping them build a better future.
