Warrior Awards
Join us in celebrating outstanding Native youth in our community!
The Indigenous Leadership Academy PNW will be hosting an awards banquet in recognition of the hard work and achievement of our Native youth. These awards will recognize the spiritual, cultural, academic, and physical achievements of our youth, and are open to all Native youth in the lower Puget Sound. We are looking to recognize youth who have not only demonstrated individual success, but have also demonstrated leadership by positively impacting their community, their school, their peers, or their families. The banquet will be held on August 23rd, 2024.
Our awards celebrate the contribution of the youth to their communities. For this reason, the impact of the youth on their communities will be more heavily weighted by the award committee than the accomplishment itself.
*Youth do not have to be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe, but should be a descendant or enrolled member of a federally or state recognized tribe. *
Indigenous Games
Join us in games of endurance!
Our ancestors were excellent athletes who were able to achieve great feats of strength - strength of body, mind, and spirit! This year at our youth canoe pull, we seek to host a competition between youth canoe families to see who has the greatest endurance. The following games are currently planned: Archery, Strength, Running, Frigid Water. We look forward to recognizing a canoe family ages 8-15 and 15-25. We can’t wait to see you there!
